Repo cars come from a wide variety of sources. They may be cars repossessed to cover debt, been abandonded at airports, government surplus stock (not strictly repo but they fall into this category because of the bargains you can sometimes pick up) – there are many reasons why a car ends up at a cheap repo car sale.

There are several ways of going about this. Watch your local newspaper/s – most of them will be advertised there. Often they are advertised according to a schedule so the advertisement appears a long time a head of the actual auction.

You can subscribe to a directory that lists these sales anywhere in the United States and this is by far these easiest option. My favorite is Government Auctions. This is the way I find cheap repo cars because they do most of the leg work for you.

Don’t get me wrong – you will still have to follow the trail to the car of your dreams like a bloodhound. You’ll click here and click there until you find what you’re looking for. If you can’t be bothered to do that, then head on down to your local car lot – buying a repo car is not for you.

But if you can be bothered – and personally I find it an adventure because you simply have NO idea what you might find as you set off on the journey – then they are the people I use. They update their lists regularly to weed out auctions that don’t come up to scratch.

On the right hand side of the Government Auctions site you’ll see a link called Seized and Surplus Vehicles In Your Area. That’s where you need to go.

Whether you run a vehicle reselling business or are looking for an affordable one for yourself, cheap used car auctions are all you need. If you have never tried them before and are not sure how to go about them, here are a few useful tips to help you find and buy your dream vehicle at a ridiculously low price.

1. Second hand cars posted at government, bank, or public auctions follows the prices that should also fit that of second-hand standards. Government, bank, dealers, or public auctions selling these cars are assured to be with cheaper price tags. However, because the process is still an auction, people bid and trump each other’s bids, sometimes bumping the car prices to significantly rise up. So you need to be careful with this. Know your limit.

2. If possible, seek professional or expert advice.

This is because there may be technical aspects of car buying that are not familiar to you. There are engine specifications that you still know a little about.

Additionally, prices may sometimes not proportional or fit for the second hand car for sale at auction. It would not hurt bringing along with you a friend or an professional when inspecting a used vehicle’s value at a auctions.

3. Check the secondhand vehicle at its entirety.

There might be undiscovered and unexposed flaws that when exposed would help drive down the tag price of the used car being auctioned. The government, bank, or the one who organized the auction might sometimes unintentionally conceal such minor or even major defects because, for all you know, it might have not practically discovered the problem in the first place.

4. Start at a cheap and low bid.

If there are already existing bids, make sure if you aim to outbid them, you just add a little amount on top of the currently existing highest bid.

If the tag price becomes unreasonably high, better let it go. There would be other cars in auction that are far better and superior than that contested one. Do not stop searching for a great and cheap buy.

5. Payment Arrangement

When you already close a deal, make sure you talk to the proper authorities regarding the payment arrangement you are more comfortable to pursue.
Payment scheme could either be in cash, which usually comes with better discounts, in checks, which need further arrangements.

SeizeCars.com has a very huge database full of different cheap, repossessed, or repossessed cars for sale just waiting for you to bid on. Searching for the right repossessed car for sale can be a difficult decision and a stressful process, and SeizeCars.com will greatly help you out.

One useful idea to consider when looking for a new-to-you vehicle is that of a car auction. The name is fairly descriptive of the activity, but you might find some detail useful. A car auction is much like the auction of any good or service. An auctioneer accepts bids from members of the assembled crowd, and, at some point, when no higher bids are on offer, the item is sold to the highest bidder present. The competition is limited to those who have chosen to attend, in person or by proxy, and the gratification is immediate. Attendees of the car auction are united with their purchases in very short order, often driving home with their chosen car or truck on the very day of the event.

You may ask what sort of cars are available for auction? You may not be aware, but just one month ago, before the bankruptcy laws in this country underwent a planned shift in policy, countless individuals chose to declare bankruptcy in America. In some cases, the forfeiture of the vehicles once driven by those individuals became necessary. Those cars, either forfeited in bankruptcy or repossessed from non-paying individuals are often available at a car auctions at greatly reduced rates. Too, it is sometimes possible to obtain vehicles formerly used for government or business purposes. These are quality used cars being auctioned for quick sale, and the savings of the car auction model are passed on to you, the consumer interested in finding a deal.

In addition to the excitement inherent in the auction competition and the immediate gratification of buying your chosen car on the spot, an added benefit is that the cars up for auction most often are available for your personal inspection at the auction site. Kick the tires, look under the hood – do whatever will make you feel secure in the knowledge that you are buying a quality product for yourself or your loved one. You will want to inspect, as it is often auction policy that whatever car you purchase is yours to keep, and that any problem which may occur once the car is in your possession becomes your problem alone.

A less than great car or a less than great deal are definite rarities at car auctions, however, and you can feel confident that your purchase will benefit you in its chosen purpose to your high expectations.
